Update on work relating to Zone 3 Chelmsford Garden Community

Chelmsford Garden Community Council has received an update from the company who propose to develop Zone 3 of the Chelmsford Garden Community Council that certain works will be taking place in the area as from 28th August 2023

As from 28th August for one month borehole testing will be carried out.  The Council has been advised that the work is localised and the company hope it will not cause any concern.

As from 4th September for around 12 months, archaeology excavation will start on site and will be carried out with the consent of and knowledge of Chelmsford City Council and Essex County  Council.  The purpose is to collect, analyse and record the archaeology finds that were identified when trial trenching was undertaken last summer.

During October, to avoid the bird nesting season, and subject to the granting of certain licences, contractors will be carrying out hedgerow clearance and ecological mitigation works.

Letters have also been sent to some residents and any questions can be raised direct with Greycoat on 0203 869 0500 and ask for Viktoria Oakley.

The planning application to develop the area has yet to be determined and the map below shows the area where the development is proposed.
